Days 1 - 2 - Tangier (Description)

Our first contact with Morocco will be through the beautiful city of Tangier. Heir to the myth of Hercules, the city closest to the African continent where the Spanish coast is visible a few kilometers from Tangier is the gateway between the two continents bordered on the west by the Atlantic, the east by the Mediterranean.

We spend our first day exploring the medina and its local handicrafts before we sit in our charming local hotel. During our second day, we wake up early to go towards the Cape Spartel, the caves of Hercules are a series of excavations flooded by water at high tide. The opening of this mythical place is a map of Africa reversed. According to legend, Hercules would have rested here after digging the Gibraltar Strait.

Day 3 - Tangier (Description)

After waking up early, we will go along its streets to enjoy the transition from the traditional city has one of the new town has European influence. Its small buildings of five floors up, with shops at ground floor, were built under Spanish protectorate. Let us then headed to the port city of M'diq to begin our trip on the Mediterranean coast. We will taste a dish made from fish freshly caught in the evening.

Days 4 - 6 - Tangier (Description)

Next, we drive to the beautiful beaches of the Moroccan Mediterranean coast that we will appreciate. We join our beautiful and almost deserted beach north of where we will stay elsewhere in a charming little inn. We will use during our stay, of course, the beach and discover its pleasures but also local products.

Days 7 - 9 - Chefchaouen (Description)

We will get up very early in order to visit the impressive gorge of the Oued Lau, with their villages perched on top before joining what our next discovery: Chefchaouen. This charming town dominated by two mountains, enjoys an exceptional natural environment and preserved the true invitation to hike or walk, something we do elsewhere. We'll get there in the late afternoon, leaving us just enough time to warm ourselves up in our host hotel owner very friendly, always fussing over their hosts.

We will dine in a small local restaurant, and take the opportunity to become acquainted with the city before joining our nest. Chefchaouen has the advantage of being ideally located for a start trekking or hiking in the surrounding parks. Its surroundings are full of natural wonders, like the Bridge of God Akchour rock placed in an arc over a cliff 25 meters. We drive, so to Achkour to spend a day hike to explore waterfalls and natural resources of the site. We’ll eat a tasty tajine with a mint tea never tasted before. The next day we visit the town of Chefchaouen as a whole, stroll through the medina and its pedestrian streets, visit local shops and taste the delicious dishes of the region.

Marrakech & The Desert

Day 10 - Marrakech & The Desert (Description)

We’ll wake up early to enjoy a good hike in the Valley of Ourika in the Atlas Mountains. Waterfalls and small Berber houses in this mountainous region will be waiting to charm us along the way. As we head back to our Riad in Marrakech we will stop to eat and relax to recharge our batteries in a special peaceful place, disconnected off from the outside world and surrounded by a rose garden.

Days 11 - 14 - Marrakech & The Desert (Description)

Then, we’ll drive to the Sahara desert before taking camels to discover the traditional way of crossing the desert. As we share in the lifestyle of a family of local nomads we will experience the changing landscapes as we move our camp around. In order to remain in harmony with nature and its inhabitants, we will not hesitate to make part of the trek on foot in order to let the camels rest. We will visit a pottery COOP as we make our our way to the mountains of Southern Morocco.

Day 15 - Marrakech & The Desert (Description)

We will begin our discovery of Morocco in the famous city of Marrakech. Its sumptuous streets, medina (market), rich architecture and traditional foods will live up to its reputation. Founded in 1070, the city of Marrakech had its glory days as well as its share of downfalls. Its tumultuous history explains its present splendour. Located at the feet of the High Atlas Mountains and very close to the surrounding desert, it was a strategic location for civilization to prosper and its biodiversity is one that we will appreciate.

We will be staying in a Riad, a traditional dwelling in the heart of the city that is typically hidden by walls on the outside and is surprisingly spacious on the inside. We will begin our visit of Marrakech via the famous Jamaa el Fna Square. The square’s atmosphere will charge us with its merchants and attractions of all kinds. We will tour the historical monuments of Marrakech, also called the Red Town. We will get to taste typical regional dishes and enjoy a dinner/show complete with belly dancing and musicians.
